Once again we were not disappointed by the dishes of Chef Julien, in what was truly a fully immersion in French cuisine and French winemaking in only one night.
Some pictures of the 5 courses and wines:
The Consommé aux cèpes was an exceptional start: creamy and tasty porcini mushroom soup with infused smoked bacon that matched superbly with the liquorice and peppery notes of Domaine de la Clapière Jardin de Jules.
Goat cheese espuma found a great companion in Château La Verriere Bordeaux Sauvignon Blanc, especially thanks to the delicacy of the grilled asparagus and the sligth sweetness of hazelnuts crumble and honey comb.
The seasoned ingredients in the Imported sea-bass fillet were paired beautifully with Domaine de la Clapière Figuerette, a nice Languedoc white which combines tropical and Mediterranean flavours with a saline finish that was just perfect for this dish. The second main course was a well cooked Barbecue beef tenderloin, paired with Château La Verriere Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge: so good that we forgot to get a picture!
Luckily we saved enough space for the dessert, a superb French-style apple tarte tatin with our favorite Louis Perdrier Brut Excellence.
There are not many places in Bangkok where you can get this high quality in your dish, such good wines and an impeccable service.
Thanks Chef Julien and all the staff at Felicita for this great dinner.
