Devil’s Cave Vineyard Heathcote Shiraz

Devils Cave Vineyard is a family owned business based in Heathcote, Victoria producing premium Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The ancient soils of Heathcote are said to be some 500 million years old which display some of the best characteristics for Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon vines.

The actual ‘Devil’s Cave’ is situated behind the vineyard on the McIvor range which lies adjacent to the township. The cave was once a place where Aborigines sheltered and was occupied as far back as 1864 by prospectors exploring the area for gold.

The philosophy is making wine by using minimal chemical input in the vineyard to maintain a healthy soil life, which also follows in the winemaking allowing the wine to speak it’s true sense of place. We believe that each wine is a true representative of the site, the variety and the vintage. Starting in 2012 making only a Shiraz wine and have since added a Cabernet Sauvignon a few years later.

Giaconda Estate Vineyard Shiraz

Giaconda wines have a super-cult status and, given the tiny production, are extremely difficult to find; they are sold chiefly through restaurants and by mail order. All have a cosmopolitan edge befitting Rick Kinzbrunner’s international winemaking experience.
Compelling and remarkably perfumed, this Shiraz from Warner Vineyard is feminine and highly aromatic on first impression, and, as each layer is peeled away, the beautiful elements of Shiraz are slowly revealed.

Maverick Silk Road Barossa Valley Shiraz

The Silk Road was not only the historical camel route spanning Central Asia and linking Asia to europe, but encompassed the very first wine producing regions of the Anciant World. It therefore symbolises the history of wine and the bridge between cultures which is what Ronald Brown, owner and founder of Maverick Wines, believe the world of wine truly represents.

Sweet dark fruits, hints of coffee and dark chocolate, round, generous, with a hint of dusty tannin drying the finish.

The three Springs Vineyard is located alongside the original Schild Family Estate. Planted in 1926 the Grenache vines are classified as ‘Survivour Vines’ in the Barossa Valley Old Vine Charter. The Mourvédre for this wine is grown in ‘Kleeman’s Block’ where vines are high on the Eastern Hills overlooking Rowland Flat. Shiraz is taken from the ‘Workshop’ and ‘Angus Brae’ vineyards taking premium fruit from each to blend into this typical GMS.
