Susana Balbo Brioso

Brioso is Susana Balbo’s signature Bordeaux blend consisting of 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Malbec, 22% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, all blended then aged for 15 months in new French oak barrels. The grapes come from Finca Dominio, located almost 1000 meters above sea level in the prime area of ​​Agrelo (in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza).
Susana Balbo is regarded as Argentina’s finest female winemaker, and this Brioso is a great wine which showcase her talents. It’s consistently good quality year on year with recent vintages aiming to be more European in style, less fruit driven and more traditional Bordeaux.

In Susana’s own words: “Brioso means “the spirit of passion for challenges”, and expresses my unique passion to create this wine”.

NOSE
Red and black fruit aromas are followed by an elegant grip over florality that comes from the Cabernet Sauvignon.
The other grapes blend into add flavor and complexity.

PALATE
It shows sweet red and black fruits, subtle oak and a great backbone of tannins.
It has a fine, lifted finish with great ageing potential.

AGEING
15 months in 100% new French oak barrels.

PAIRING
Red meat as pork, lamb, quail and duck.
