Duluc de Branaire-Ducru Saint-Julien AOC (Château Branaire-Ducru GCC 2nd wine)

Jean-Baptiste Braneyre, the first person to own the estate in 1680, was well aware of the superb wine growing potential of the gravelly soil located a stone’s throw from the Gironde estuary. The 1855 classification was later to confirm the quality of the terroir. In 1952, Jean Tapie bought the estate and is launching a major renovation of the winery, vineyard and chateau with his orangery. In 1988, the property is returned to Patrick Maroteaux, representative of a family of industrial northern France. First modern winery using gravity flow system in 1991.

Every vintage, the now in charge Maroteaux family strives to produce wines faithful to its famous “3 F” motto: “Freshness, Fruit, Finesse”. Indeed, the wines of Château Branaire Ducru draw their deep character from an blend with a strong Cabernet-Sauvignon influence. Château Branaire Ducru, and his second wine, Duluc de Branaire-Ducru are known to lovers of great wines for the regularity and elegance of their deep character.
