Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett (off-dry)

Producing unique Rieslings that capture the distinctive personality of the great vineyard sites on the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer has been the mission at Weingut Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt for the last 650 years. The Gunter-Reh family arrived at the end of the 1970’s when they purchased the Imperial property of “Reichsgrafen von Kesselstatt” in 1978. Today, covering 46 hectares, their vines occupy an extraordinary range of superior terroirs along the three river valleys of Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, expressing the individuality and personality of these unique terroirs as effectively and tangibly as possible.

The world famous Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard, meaning ‘sundial’, is located in the imposing slate-slope hillside to the right of the Mosel (at 110-190 meters above sea level). This wine undisputedly belongs to the best the central Mosel valley has to offer. Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt owns 0.3 hectare in this pure south-facing location with a 50° incline. The rocky soil is rich with fine-grained, weathered Devon shale and some clay. Combined with a perfect microclimate, this location offers the basis for full-bodied, fruity wines with elegance and depth.
