Feudi di San Gregorio Aglianico del Vulture DOC

Feudi di San Gregorio epitomizes the oenological renaissance of southern Italy, promoting a wine culture for the rediscovery of Mediterranean flavours. To promote southern Italy grape varieties, such as Aglianico, Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo, to invest in the land and in the century old tradition of Irpinia wine making, means offering a future to a unique environmental heritage. Established in 1986 by two Irpinian families, Feudi di San Gregorio has its roots in the town of Sorbo Serpico in the province of Avellino.
Faithful to its mission of rediscovering and enhancing the great wine heritage of southern Italy, Feudi di San Gregorio has landed, in the 90s, in the Vulture, in Basilicata, and in the area of Manduria, in Puglia. Il Vulture is a land of great viticultural and peasant tradition, since Greek times. It is here that Feudi di San Gregorio has «naturally» landed to complete its path of rediscovering Aglianico. On the lava slopes of Vulture, in the municipality of the «hundred cellars» – Barile – among ancient olive trees and fruit trees, an old « free foot » plant still preserves the traditional «a capanno» breeding form.
