Susana Balbo Signature Malbec

Many Malbec associate with powerful, robust and sweet-fruited red wines, but Susana Balbo chooses instead to emphasize the elegant fruity and minerality of the grape variety. Made with purchased grapes from Altamira, this impressive, limestone-influenced Malbec contains 4% Cabernet Sauvignon in this vintage. It’s a scented, well balanced expression of the grape with bright acidity, crunchy blackberry fruit, well integrated oak and filigree tannins. More evidence of the change of style here.

Te Mata Estate Chardonnay

Sourced exclusively from Te Mata estate’s own vineyards, the Estate Vineyards wines represent the best qualities of their variety, vintage and Hawke’s Bay origin.
Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’17 combines the best of traditional and modern winemaking. Traditional whole-bunch pressing, barrel fermentation, barrel maturation on gross lees, and malolactic fermentation were all used on a portion of the wine to enhance the complexity, richness and integration. Modern de-stemming and tank fermentation was used for the remainder of the grapes to preserve the vibrant varietal aromas and clear, fresh fruit expression. 2017 was a spectacular chardonnay harvest in Hawke’s Bay. Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’17 is a pure expression of this exceptional quality.

Tenuta Di Sesta Camponovo Toscana Rosso IGT

A wine with a strong character linked to the Montalcino territory: it originates from the union of two local varieties, Sangiovese and Colorino, which blend together giving at first the structure and then the intense color. After ageing in stainless steel vats, it shows a ruby red color, hints of red fruit on the nose and fresh and balanced flavor. Even though it is so drinkable and very approachable on the palate, it maintains the typical strong characteristics of Montalcino wines.

Sangiovese in its natural state, considered to be the younger brother of Brunello. It unites the imposing structure of Brunello with the freshness and vivacity of a young wine. Tenuta Monteti Caburnio Toscana IGT

The story of Tenuta Monteti began in 1998 when, after years of searching, Gemma and Paolo Baratta finally found this corner of Tuscany in the southern Maremma area where they could take up again a project from their youth. In this small valley, 15 km from the sea and 145m above sea level, the fields are protected by the Monteti hill from which the estate takes its name.
Being able to start from scratch, without an old local tradition or the frame of a DOC classification, meant there was freedom to listen to the soil and the climate, and plant the varieties that would respond and express themselves to their best. Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Alicante Bouschet were chosen and in these archaic Mediterranean hills soon they found a very personal expression.

Caburnio is the other, not second, wine. It is named after a spelling mistake in the transcription of a passage of the Natural History by Pliny the Elder, written between 23 and 79 AD, in which, in the illustration of winegrowing in Roman times in the province of Gallia Narbonensis, “vitis Caburnicam” appeared by mistake instead of “Narbonicam, Narbonensis”. It is a complex yet fresh wine and it is very drinkable.

Certified sustainable wine.
