I Giusti & Zanza Dulcamara Toscana Rosso IGT

L’Elisir D’Amore is an Italian 19th century opera buffa by Gaetano Donizetti. It tells the story of the charlatan pharmacist Dulcamara whose “love filter”, in truth a bottle of Bordeaux, helps Nemorino conquer the heart of the beautiful Adina despite Belcore’s interference. A complex tale of ploys and passion, with the sweet tones of love and the bitter taste of jealousy – it offers a representation of wine as a powerful love filter that is fitting with the charming wisely-balanced intensity of I Giusti & Zanza wines.
Dulcamara was the very first Giusti & Zanza label. In its first vintage, 1996, only 3000 bottles were produced – at the time, it was the entirety of the winery’s production. Dulcamara is a classic Super Tuscan composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon. In some favourable vintages it is aided by a share of Cabernet Franc, for a total of 60 to 70% of Cabernet. The blend is completed by Merlot and eventually a small amount of Petit Verdot, like it was in this 2013 vintage.

The agricultural conduction is organic and biodynamic in the vineyards.

I Giusti & Zanza Nemorino Red Toscana IGT

L’Elisir D’Amore is an Italian 19th century opera buffa by Gaetano Donizetti. It tells the story of the charlatan pharmacist Dulcamara whose “love filter”, in truth a bottle of Bordeaux, helps Nemorino conquer the heart of the beautiful Adina despite Belcore’s interference. The Red Nemorino’s composition varies slightly from vintage to vintage. It is primarily composed of Syrah (about 60%), with additions of Merlot and Sangiovese, as well as small shares of Alicante. The vintage 2016 produce a very small crop of Sangiovese which was replaced by Cabernet Franc, in order to guarantee the same level of freshness and acidity to balance the sweetness and the roundness of Syrah e Merlot.
The result is a wine of great immediacy.

The agricultural conduction is organic and biodynamic in the vineyards.
